HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — 2018-2022 I PHOEBE BEACHNER

Quarterdeck is such an iconic waterfront destination in Hilton Head, and redesigning it meant balancing fresh energy with the coastal character everyone already loved. This 18,000 sf project was such a rewarding blend of coastal heritage, modern hospitality, and full brand creation. The restaurant spans two main dining floors—with a rooftop oyster bar offering 270-degree views—along with a private dining room and pre-function space, a flexible event area, wraparound outdoor dining, and a lively grab-and-go market on the ground floor.

Creating the logo and menus through various branding exercises alongside the interiors helped everything land with the same voice. We pulled in subtle maritime cues, classic typography, and a color story that ties back to the building’s palette, giving the whole concept a unified identity.

This project is especially personal to our team. The Quarterdeck was a place Phoebe’s family visited when she was young, and being part of its transformation felt like closing a full-circle moment. To help reimagine a place that holds such meaning for locals, visitors, and the marina community was incredibly rewarding—a once-in-a-lifetime design experience.

Interior design services for this project were completed in collaboration with Hart Howerton. Photos shown are construction progress images from scheduled site visits.
